Come and visit our fantastic school

Welcome to Year Two

Hello, we are in Year 2. We are the oldest children in the school and have lots of responsibilities. We can volunteer to be a computer monitor. This job makes sure that the computer suite is ready to use every morning and is tidy and organised.
We also get to become Friendship Stop Monitors. If you become a Friendship Stop monitor it is your job is to be a good friend to everyone in the school and set a good example of the behaviour that we should have in school. You have to wear a red cap in the playground so that everyone knows who they can go to if they need help or a friend to play with.
You can become a library monitor and help make sure the books are tidy and in the right place for others to come and read. Every term we elect different children to become School Councillors. Our friends can vote for us if they think will be a good representative for the class and help make decisions about what we would like to happen in our school to make it an even better place to be.
In our school we all think that it is very important that we try and learn as much as we can. To help us do this we all have literacy and numeracy targets. The targets help us to see what we need to do to in our learning and the next steps we need to take to improve even more. With our teachers we regularly check how well we are doing.
In the Summer Term in Year 2 we get the opportunity to go to a music festival. The music festival is a chance for lots of children from other schools to get together, sing and play instruments. It is really good fun.
At our end of year assembly all of our families get to hear the songs too!
